Okay, we’ve made it through our inaugural theme of Summer and we’re taking the whole month of July to celebrate various acts of Independence and the necessity of Freedom. Almost everyone has to struggle with how to declare their own independence and what that means to them. When we are children, we have to listen to and adhere to what our parents/elders tell us but eventually we learn to discover the world for ourselves and decide how we want to live our life.
There are so many examples of freedom and acts of independence for us to draw from. Here in the United States, the 4th of July is right around the corner, which signals the birth of our country as an independent nation free from the rule of England and any other outside forces. Becoming independent and proclaiming your freedom is often met with a lot of resistance and this month we will attempt to explore all the different types of inner and outer forms of independence. For the next 31 days, there will be a new post every Mon, Wed and Fri for you to enjoy. So, sit back and get ready to wave your own personal flag for INDEPENDENCE/FREEDOM.
