I don’t know whether it’s because I live in an area that experiences four seasons but I have a LOT of coats.
Like. A Lot.
All different shapes and textures.
Coats. Capes. Shawls. Jackets. Leather. Wool. Garbardine. Fur. Plaid.
The list is pretty exhaustive. Plus, I just love outerwear. I figure if you have to wrap yourself in layers to keep warm why not have a little fun with the wrapping, right?
Fortunately, I’ve been able to acquire most of this collection through thrifting, sample sales and pure luck. Recently, I made a conscious decision to ease up on the outerwear and add one new coat this Fall season. There’s only so much closet space to go around and coats have a tendency to be bulky.
So, to say that I swooned a little bit over this editorial in the New York Times T Magazine would be absolutely correct.
