This is a short film from FrostFrench for their A/W 2003 collection featuring Helena Christensen and Liberty Ross. I read about it in an old issue of British Glamour and immediately went in search of it. Enchantement combines many of my favorite things: the circus, theatrics and clothing. If you ever had to run off to join the circus, it should be as stylish as this.

If you haven’t seen the movie, then you know the legend. Apparently, designer Emily Katz felt the love when she named her clothing line of embellished basics, Bonnie Heart Clyde. I for one, love the little embroidery details that seem to find their way onto every piece. For Bonnie, simple jumpers with a hint of whimsy. For Clyde, classic silhouettes with special detailing.

Karen Elson
Here is a short, silent film brought to you by the founders of the Citizens Band troupe (whose website I adore) in collaboration with Leith Clark, the editor of the beloved Lula magazine. You might have seen a few pics from the movie in Issue 3 of Lula. Most of the clothes are Victorian-inspired (luv it) creations from Alexander McQueen and Chanel.

I don’t know what it is with my fascination with houseboats. Though I have sea legs and don’t get motion sickness, I am not a strong swimmer and have no business actually living on a boat. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t think it has a romantic appeal to it. This past weekend’s NY Times featured the article Water Shed which showcased the Maison Flottante: where the Bouroullec brothers (artists) live. Look at the beautiful scenery.

Perhaps the fascination stems from my love of old movies, like the appropriately titled Houseboat starring Cary Grant and Sophia Loren.

Houseboat

Cary Grant is a widower with three children and Sophia becomes their nanny. Due to extreme circumstances they end up having to live on a decrepit houseboat. After some paint and a little TLC presto the houseboat is awesome. I wish I had actual screenshots of the whole exterior of the houseboat but it looks like a fun, whimsical place to live.

Burfitt

I’m a very visual person and as much as I love fashion, the way it is presented is just as important. Which is why I love what Burfitt is offering. The juxtaposition between clothing and nature is something that I can appreciate. The attention to detail is precise and every picture has so much to say.

Erin Fetherston
Well, there you have it. Another designer has been added to the Target guest designer roster. Erin Fetherston, mostly known for her unapologetic, frothy, feminine collections and living in a great apartment in Paris. It’ll be interesting to see what this collaboration will entail. One of the first times, I heard about her was with this Wendybird video directed by Ellen Von Unwerth and featuring Erin Fetherston’s A/W 06 collection starring Kirsten Dunst.

Oh my… This collection makes my heart go a-flutter. Not only does this have me looking towards the fall and all the rich, beautiful colors that I can’t wait to wear but I love the photography and styling. Samantha Pleet‘s Fall ’07 collection has so many elements that I adore. Check out the heeled oxfords and the names of the clothing: Dandy Romper, Vagabond Vest and Chimney Sweep Shorts. Love it! The combination of dandyism with a mix of goth-romantic edge leaves me breathless.

I love the artwork of M/M (Paris) featured in the NY Times this past weekend. I have seen some of their works before like the Calvin Klein Poster but I didn’t know who created it. This is the type of graphic design I’m drawn to, love the combination of image and typography.Calvin KleinShellBjork Vespertine

Last year, I read about Digby and Iona in NYLON but never followed up on it. Well, that was a mistake. I finally got around to the website and found the coolest ring that I have seen in a long time. Also, I love the antique-looking key necklace. Definitely something to keep in mind to add to my “future”  jewelry collection. Right now, I’ll just imagine what it will look like on my finger.
