   I love your blog, I love the styles and expressive photography — many thanks!
   I know you’ve heard this ad nauseum about the fashion industry, and it isn’t a bandwagon I’ve jumped on, but I couldn’t help but notice in this set of photos (gorgeous clothes, love them) just how gaunt the models look.

   i don’t think that anyone can deny that there is a glorification of thin within the fashion industry and society at large. when ten year olds are worrying about diet secrets instead of who they will be playing with in the schoolyard, then it becomes something that causes me to pause and should be addressed.

   that being said, in a presentation sense within the fashion industry, do clothes look better on a thinner (by thin i mean where you still look and are healthy, not emaciated where you can count every bone) frame? i think yes, for the most part. does that mean it is the ideal? definitely not. is there such a thing as too thin? absolutely!! (especially if it is not natural) is this a fair and accurate representation of the average woman? no.

   i think it is important to talk about these things as a community. to be honest, in these sets of pictures the first thing i focused on were the clothes and not how thin the models are. yes, they are certainly thin, though i believe that gaunt look is definitely emphasized through the use of pale makeup and the lack of vibrant colors in the styling.

   women of all shapes and sizes need to be able to see a positive representation of themselves, whether they are naturally thin or not.
