Gibson Girl

The first thing I noticed looking through H Fredriksson’s S/S 07 collection was the hair (though the clothes are very nice). A modern version of the early twentieth century Gibson Girl.


A Gibson Girl was the creation of Charles Dana Gibson, an illustrator who created what would become the ideal image of woman in the early 1900′s. One of the distinct features of a Gibson Girl, besides the corset was the hair styled into a bouffant of sorts on top of the head.
