Delicate Mechanisms
1. Clothes on hooks, 2. hula hoop

When I first started stylealchemy I always envisioned it as some type of outlet for other creative people, a place to gather and share inspiration. It’s a vision that is continually evolving and as a result I put pen to paper and came up with an overview of what stylealchemy is. Here is our official manifesto: a little more insight into what this site is about.

This morning, I woke up in my tousled bed with the fan whirring overhead and slightly freezing. At some point last night, I felt hot hence the fan but by early morning I was cold and slightly annoyed.

There is nothing I hate more than being cold.

The dampness outside matched the unsettled nature of my mood and I felt at wit’s end. Usually, I love rainy weather: I find it romantic and soothing but for some reason this morning I could find no relief in my surroundings.

I had literally woken up on the wrong side of the bed which if you know me is not something that happens. I enjoy the mornings and I am not one of those people who drag themselves out of bed bemoaning the sun. In fact, I always feel motivated by a new day. A new start!

So, instead of staying in this tumultous mood, I found my way to my inspiration folder and quickly found this picture. Which is why I am sitting here in front of the computer at this time and saying f**k it, sipping on hot peppermint tea and listening to The Parlor Mob and old Bjork. There’s too much beauty in the little things to feel so trapped. It’s all a state of mind and I have made the conscious decision to have a good day. So, I am wishing all of you the same.

look at the speed out there
it magnetizes me to it
and i have no fear
i’m only in to this to
Enjoy!

Noble Youth is the creative concept of self-taught designers Megan Quinn and Ned Shatzer who met by coincidence on a train ride from Baltimore to NY back in 2005. They quickly discovered that they shared the same style aesthetic and Noble Youth Design was formed. The duo create their designs out of Brooklyn, NY. Here are some images from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Love this dress, the pattern and the little bit of flutter at the shoulders.

But it’s the back that really makes this amazing.
