I love that design houses are releasing little videos to accompany their latest collections. Making a visual 3-5min representation of your work is an added bonus that just watching models saunter down catwalks wearing the clothes.
One of the first mini-videos I ever fell in love with was Erin Fetherston’s Wendybird directed by acclaimed Ellen Von Unwerth. Here is Vanessa Bruno’s Printemps 2010 collection starring Lou Doillon.
I’ve been a big fan of stockings, tights whatever you want to call them for forever. I still remember my mom dressing me in white cable knit ones to match my outfits. Also, there’s a picture of me not even two years old in a blue dress with a white pinafore, a blue barrette in my hair, white lace-up shoes and blue tights. Because my mom is so gangsta at color-coordination.
I found this set on Flickr by Jolis Paons who created a paper dress out of old phone books.
It looks incredible and it immediately made me think of past Project Runways seasons and I know there was a similar challenge but did not produce anything so stunning.
Jolis sewed, pleated, stuck and glued everything by hand. AMAZING…
I would so wear this… on a clear and cloudless day of course!
Hey lovelies!! Hope everyone had a great weekend with lots of interesting adventures.
I know that there are some devoted Star Wars fans out there. People who have seen the movies umpteenth amount of times and they know every little plot twist, etc.
I am not one of those people. I have seen the original movies maybe once altogether. Even so, I don’t really remember everything that happens. Of course, all the important pop culture bits and pieces that have invaded our consciousness I am aware of.
I know that Darth Vader is Luke’s father, Princess Leia wears a gold bikini when she is with Jabba the Hut, etc.
If there was a million dollar question based on some minute aspect of this movie, I could kiss that money good-bye.
Which is why I find this video so hilarious.
This is the retelling of Star Wars by someone who has never really seen the movies.
Hey guys! I know everyone has done some type of 2008 year in review from clothes, music to pop culture and I’ve enjoyed just about everyone of them but nothing beats this year in review clip from Pop Waffle.
I’m bringing back an old favorite that gets me up and shaking my ass. I recently re-listened to this over the weekend and it has been stuck in my head. I think its a perfect way to start off the week, a little booty- shaking never hurt anyone.
Disclaimer = There are many times that Justin Timberlake annoys me but I can’t deny that him hooking up with the genius that is Timbaland has made some great dance/pop music.
Hey lovelies! Hope everyone had a great weekend and to my fellow American readers, a great Thanksgiving holiday!
The fourth of July is a long way behind us as we only have one more month until we get to party like its 2009… So, this beautiful video is of fireworks on the fourth but backwards. Enjoy.
Beyonce has not been on my radar for some time. So, I didn’t know about her newish song or video or even the fact that she had a new album coming out. Mostly because I just don’t care. Even when someone would ask me “Hey have you seen Beyonce’s new video?” I’d say, “No” and I wasn’t even curious to check it out. That is until I heard about dancer extraordinaire Shane Mercado who does B’s routine flawlessly.
I watched the video over and over to the point that I now know most of the words to the song and I have been humming it endlessly. I’m sure you guys must have seen this video already but I can not help but post it here because this is an excellent way to start the week in my opinion!
So, the first video is Shane dancing by himself. The second video is a side-by-side comparison of him and the video and he works. it. out.
Enjoy!
