Hey lovelies! It’s been awhile. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season.

Happy Holidays!!!!

After feeling under the weather for awhile, I finally am getting back to normal. That didn’t stop me from over-feasting at Christmas dinner, though. Mmm, mmm good!

Just a quick note to say what’s up and to show off my latest addition to my procrastinating bag of tricks. You know the things that you do instead of actual work.

Let me present to you my latest toy:

Diana F+ camera

Look at her in all her plastic glory! That’s my girl.

This Diana F+ camera makes me feel like warm and fuzzy with the thought of shooting with film.

It’s been awhile.

Seriously, it’s been a couple of years since I dropped off film to be developed. Even with my polaroids, it’s been about instant access and results. Of course, nothing beats the ease of digital but I kind of like the feeling of not really knowing what is captured until the pictures are developed.

You can’t re-shoot or critique anything, it’s click and go. Move on and forget about it. I like.

I like it a lot.

Okay, okay its cold outside.

Like freezing. Brrr.

As a result, I do not ride my vintage Schwinn around like I used to.

It takes a special type of person to ride their bike during the cold, bitter winter and I am NOT. that. person. at. all.

So, it sits propped up in my apartment as some type of metal ornament.

Mostly, the basket holds little odds and ends.

Really, what all this rambling about is that when I do ride my bike, I’m not always the most practical. I mean if I’m wearing non-tight jeans, I know to hitch and roll up my right leg because I don’t want the extra fabric to get caught in my chain and cause a nasty accident. Let’s not even get into the helmet situation, as in I don’t wear one. My bike is soo heavy that its more of a leisure type of activity and that means that I have ridden in heels. Not practical at all (good thing I didn’t have to go far), but it was definitely eye-catching. So, of course when I saw this picture it made me smile because I have been there, done that.

Love. it. lots.

Do you guys have any interesting, fashion-related bike stories?

Outside, the weather is chilly and the heat is blasting in my apartment which makes it sooo easy to indulge in several naps a day.

I don’t understand why we stopped having a required naptime after kindergarten.

This is one of my favorite things to do but sometimes I get really anxious about getting writing done and working on the website and then I find a pic like this and I’m happy in the moment.

Today is a Good Day

This week has been ker-razy!! I’ve been running around and experiencing real life which means that I haven’t been holed up in front of the computer.

So, I definitely have to get back on track.

This past Tuesday, I got to see Girl Talk at Terminal 5 and it was awesome.
He was having so much fun on stage and it just reiterates everything I believe in, people do what you love and you will earn a living from it!!!
Girl Talk
There were so many young-uns that I thought it might have been a little past their bedtime but the experience was amazing. The energy was incredible!! I did notice that there were a lot of people standing around with a beer in their hand and not really moving. Why would anyone go to a Girl Talk concert to stand around? This is not a night at the opera. In the words of M.I.A. “Dance, Dammit, Dance” and that’s exactly what me and my good friend did. We danced from beginning to end and I’m talking about serious crazy dancing.

Other than that I have been working on some things that I will reveal pretty soon. So I just wanted to check in and give mad love to you guys!!!
Smooches.

Also, this girl rocks my style world! Lots of love to the glamourai!

Happy Halloween on stylealchemy
1. Happy Halloween!, 2. Welcome Hoooome……., 3. OLD, 4. Halloween 2006

Okay, Halloween is that time honored tradition of dressing up and eating candy. Which means its a great day in my book. When I was younger, I didn’t really get the chance to celebrate Halloween that much. It was either by my grandmother’s or I was let loose with some friends in adjacent apartment buildings. That’s city life for you! I do remember my dad taking me to the Halloween Parade in the Village a couple of times, which was always fun! But it wasn’t until I was older as a teen that I really got to enjoy Halloween and it hasn’t stopped since then.

This morning, I spied little witches, pirates, 18th-century gentlemen in children who barely reach my waist on their way to school and I think it is the cutest thing evah! Last year, my nephew was a lobster but at press time his outfit is still undetermined.

Amy Winehouse was the outfit of choice last year for so many and this year it’s obviously Sarah Palin but in many different forms. I’ve toyed with many different ideas because I want to be everything but I can’t. Don’t worry I will post the outfit choice later.

Sorry for the rambling, I will leave you with something I remembered while watching those little kids marching to school. From one of my favorite childhood books, Ramona the Pest where Ramona wants to be the baddest witch in the world but wants everyone to recognize her even though she has a mask on. So, she decides to write her name on a piece of paper so she can be identified in the parade. Something about that always stood out to me. I even found an illustration from the book.

So, this post goes out to all the kids and the young at heart celebrating today!
